What To Expect From This

Shitposting? Memes? Actually good advice?

Probably, I don’t know, we’re still in the formulation process of this particular blog. Y’know, I once ran, like, twelve different blogs INCLUDING one that specifically gave lists for stuff to watch on Netflix at the time. Was I successful?

Hell no, but I did meet some cool people at the time trying to get noticed, just like me.

And that’s the gist of it, really - I meet struggling artists, we struggle together, then eventually I’ll make a decision. Usually this means I've left something that doesn’t live up to my measure of success and, sadly, the people I met with it - it’s just how it goes. There’s a group of people that just -know- me and we hang out from time to time, but most of the time if you’re not involved with my projects you pro’lly ain’t fuckin’ with me at the moment.

And that’s cool, honestly. We’re all adults, and I don’t begrudge anyone their time, ability, or viewership - it’s just how things go.

…except y’all SHOULD be fuckin’ with my music and books, at least, freakin’ varmints.

Anyway, this is probably going to be a stream-of-consciousness blog. It IS what I’m best at, believe it or not, and one reason why I’ve podcasted so good in the past. When a brotha(ish) just pops off on the real, most people (at the time, in the moment) react appropriately. There’s a real, organic connection there, and the people who listen/read/consume me know that it’s from the heart, right then and there, and they’re a part of it.

And that’s all well and good, but it still ain’t built an audience or retained a following for me. Hell, in fact there’s a noteworthy lack of ANYONE reading me, hearing me, or otherwise interacting with me.

That’s not to say there ain’t people fucking with me, and I’ve long since admitted that my standards of success have been whacked out by society’s expectations which have, indubitably, affected my own.

But still, here you are. Here I am.

Let’s get some shit done.

SO, while it’s harder to pin down what the fuck I’m gonna do with this blog (outside of slinging The Work at you), it’s easier to state what I’m NOT going to do:

  • NFT’s (yeah, no thanks)

  • Cross a line that I, myself, respect

  • Shill out in ways that I ain’t cool with

  • Be a hypocrite, if I can help it

  • Pimp out shit I, myself, wouldn’t consume

  • Waste your time in un-fun ways

Y’all got my guarantee that I’ll live up to this. This particular post is my statement, my promise, but not my manifesto, not yet at least….but this I do declare: that together we will see my various collective projects, The Work, to a satisfying end.

Whether it be books, movies, mixed media, scripts, music, or anything else I’m involved with creatively. So long as we live up to the all-encompassing, all-important philosophy of #GetTheJobDone , we on that shit.

Rise and grind, gamers. We got a city to build, and we’re building it out of rock and roll, heavy metal, and punk shit.

Time to get on that alphasigma grindset mindset Masculine Mondays youtube tiktokin’ jank.

Mind you, I KNOW my sense of humor and style ain’t for everyone, but I’m not trying to reach out to everyone, not yet. What I want are my people.

Bring unto me your party-assed friends who actually read books and play some Dungeons and Dragons. Bring unto me the old school heavy metal nerds. Bring unto me your outsiders, your gym rats, your video gamers and anime geeks. Bring unto me the overall, overlapping Venn diagram of absolute homo ludens who wanna have a good time and get shit done.

Bring unto me my people, and I will lead you all to a glorious new dawn of badassed music, fun games, and even better books and crossed-up multimedia.

‘Cuz if you ain’t followin’ me for these reasons, the fuck you followin’ me for?
